Originally a rhythm guitarist and band front man, Matt moved into the role of lead guitar at the time of Sparky's passing. Matt's style is based in rockabilly and traditional country.

While he the most recent member to join Southern Specific, Chip's musical background is lengthy. An accomplished guitarist and vocalist, Chip brings many new songs to the Southern Specific
repertoire.
Bill Borden
Bass/Vocals
It is said that the backbone of a band is the bassist…and that’s the truth. Bill’s playing is right on time with appropriate runs for the songs we perform.
Bob Nelson
Drums/Vocals
A talented drummer to be sure, Bob always has the right rhythms for
the songs we perform. Bob’s use of a “cocktail” kit helps drive the
Southern Specific sound, lending a full drum kit sound in a compact
package.
A Word from Matt-
If it wasn't for the talented guys that share the
stage with me, Southern Specific would not exist. Their dedication
to the music, and their friendship mean the world to me. Thanks guys...for
making it work.
What We're Up To-
Which, in itself is a scary thought. We have been asked about recording a CD, and we're talking about what to record, etc. As many of you know, my "real" job is in the TV and radio production field so we already have a place to record. If there's something you'd like us to include in a CD...please drop us a line.
